Overview
This project demonstrates an overview of my career path that I intended to follow in the future. I will be representing the information that I discovered throughout the project to give you a better understanding of the occupation. Specifically, I will show you the requirements, abilities, and education needed, pay scale, some of the current hot topics, and much more.
During the process of doing this project, I was able to set up several meetings with incredible Dentists. This opportunity truly opened my eyes and provided me the information about the dentistry through the dentists’ perspectives. Through this project, I would like to thank Dr. Luisa F. Opina, Dr. Jennifer Cendejas, and Dr. Mina Narula for giving me an honor to have a real life experience in the career that I want to pursue.
Introduction to Dentistry
Dentistry is the branch of the healing arts and sciences devoted to maintaining oral health. In fact, it focuses on health profession, offering opportunities to become a successful, highly respected member of the community.
According to ExploreHealthCarreer.com, eighty percent of all dentists practice general dentistry. General dentists need to be able to treat all patients at all ages in many different treatment facilities and settings. General dentists are graduates of dental school and hold a D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree. The D.M.D. and the D.D.S. are equivalent degrees that are awarded to dental students upon completion of the same types of programs.
In fact, oral health is an essential component of general health. Medical research has revealed links between common oral infections and serious general health conditions including cardiovascular disease. Therefore, it is incredibly important to keep your teeth, gums, and other oral tissues healthy.
Educations and Skills Needed
