Hi My name is Akash Thakor and I am a senior at the university of Houston and I am studying to be a college professor. I interviewed Jimmy Smith for my informational interview. He is a sales manager and works for the company Scotts Miracle Gro. He works in Houston majority of the time. Our interview had to be over the phone because he was not in Houston at the moment. We were able to schedule a day to conversate on the phone. The primary job responsibilities that he told me were always that he had to be professional and had to be serious and straight forward with his employees. He had to make sure that his workers did an excellent job on merchandising and conditioning their products in the store. He has to supervise his team and make sure that two stores were completed within a day. He would decide the schedule and assign his workers which stores and what days to work also. He said he doesn’t really mind if his workers come in late as long as they come into the store and do their job accurately. He also said to always respect and treat customers and managers and other co workers in the store nicely and well mannered.
