Fall of Rome Essay
Rome started out as a small growing economy which later turned to a large powerful country that was ran by an Emperor. Rome had one of the largest world-wide religions as they prayed and worshipped gods. Rome was also well-known for its architecture and studies in math, science, and engineering. However, since Rome had a high system of education and beliefs, Rome became overpopulated to the points its borders were spilling out and its government became out of control. Since Rome’s government was poorly developed and became out of control, Rome became frequently invaded, killing Roman soldiers and Emperor’s. Rome also became a lazy and unstable country since they believed they were one of the most powerful and conquering countries.
One of the biggest reasons for the fall of Rome was political instability. Rome established a republic which citizens elected representatives to rule on their behalf. However, the results of the Roman expansion produced social conflict and civil war. Julius Caesar gained power and became a dictator but was assassinated. The reign of dictators began a long time of imperial rule and peace in Rome. As ruling expanded, Romans began to realize that dictatorship benefited the Emperor only and controlled the people. The people of Rome eventually overthrew this government as the beginning of fall of Rome.
