Statement of Purpose
Inside of my English classroom, students will learn to engage their creative minds in literature
and then form essays and opinions based on the literature. We will work our hardest to learn something new every day, as a team. We will respect the teacher and rest in the fact that she is doing her absolute best to teach today what will matter tomorrow.
Classroom Rules
Rule 1: Be on time, on task, and prepared EVERY day.
Rule 2: Keep ALL electronics stowed away in pouches during instructional/work periods.
Rule 3: Try your best, but never hesitate to ASK me a question by respectfully approaching the FRONT of my desk/podium.
Rule 4: NEVER snicker at, disrespect, or make fun of other students, peers, or classmates.
Rule 5: Be OPEN and HONEST!
Classroom Procedures
Procedure 1: Bell Work
Whenever you enter the class, begin on that day's bell work.
Make sure you have your textbook, supplemental reading, folder, and binder.
If you finish your bell work, work on other ENGLISH work until I enter the classroom after the bell has rung.
Procedure 2: Housekeeping
Ask ALL questions pertaining to due dates and other general confusions before we begin class. Place your technology in your pouch. Sign attendance sheet Procedure 3: Instructional Time Take out the textbook, supplemental reading, and/or binder and prepare for classwork Stay focused, on task, and engaged in conversation with the teacher about our current topic in English Work until 1 minute before the bell rings Procedure 4: Goodbye, My Good Ole' Friends If you have work that needs to be turned in, make sure that YOU place it where it needs to go.
