This can compete with the best available commercial software, and is better than many of the major editing suites. Its very flexible and every functional aspect of the software can be configured to work with any hardware setup. You can export to any of the major formats and there are basic plugins for every sort of post-production work come as part of the download.
Just so you know, the interface is very plain but that doesn't really matter. It can look a little confusing at first but the help file is great and the downloadable manual really does a good job of hand holding you through the intricacies of the app.
