How to fasten restoring large mysql dump?

I have 13GB size dump with me. It took almost 5 days to restore into my database. Is there any way to make it more efficient?

    Wow! 5 days?! That's crazy!


    How did you take the dump? Using mysqldump? And how were you restoring?


    You might want to throw hardware at the problem.

    I am using 7GB RAM, 750GM hard disk with Ubuntu OS. Teh dump was take by my client with mysql version 4.1 using mysqldump. I restored in mysql 5.1.22 using the command mysql -uroot dbname
