In the mac you can simply drag and drop that jpg to the other application and it will copy it there. In the PC, open the JPG use right click and select "Copy Image" and use the Paste/Ctrl+V in the target app...
Also, if you want to capture an image of an open window, your desktop, or whatever application is running, you can use "Alt>Prnt Scrn" to copy the image to your clipboard. You can then paste it into Paint or whatever application you prefer and save it whatever format, e.g., bmp, jpeg, gif, etc.
once you have the file saved, open it in an image editor or web browser, then right click on it and copy it. Go to the program you want to paste into and paste. Some programs may not support pasting of images though.
