Where do I put the clickheat code?

By newtoos - Apr. 23, 2008

Do I have to put it on all the pages I want to track or can I just put it on the index page?

Clickheat is good because its free and opensource. To start with try crazyegg - it does a better job of visualization than clickheat and the new confetti view is just awesome!! They have a free version for 4 pages - try it - its just embedding a single line of javascript on 4 pages (for the free version).

Why not just use Google Analytics? Or better yet, use AWstats.

Thanks for the feedback. We do use Google Analytics and love it! AWStats on the other hand is bit too cumbersome to use and hasn't proved to be as useful as people make it out to be or maybe its just my ignorance ;)

Crazyegg is awesome BUT it is rather expensive! Clickheat seems like a poor man's Crazyegg but we keep screwing up the install each time... Any tutorials on installing and using clickheat??
