If you want to MAKE flash files instead of using Macromedia tools, you can use Open Laszlo. If you need to have an alternate viewing platform, check out gnash.

I think you're looking for Gnash - its a free player, browser plugin for Adobe flash files. Its developed from the GPLFlash Project. Its beautiful... ;)

is there a plugin that can be incorporated with firefox so that we can open flash sites..
