Drupal as a CMS platform is great but its blog functionality still leaves a lot to be desired. I was wondering if there's any Drupal module out there that allows you to integrate Typepad or Wordpress blogs onto Drupal?

Would be interesting but I haven't come across an integrated Drupal-Wordpress instance. That said, I'm not sure if you've seen the latest blog module in Drupal - it has most of what you'll see on Wordpress and other dominant blog platforms out there.

Check this out:

This might help you get started at least. This code might have sql injection vulnerabilities, though, but they might be addressed shortly (or, you could do the same soon!)
I would say that you need to know a lot about PHP in order to run Drupal, if you are new to all of this I would recommend Wordpress, Typepad is something to be hated.

Depends on what you want to do. It's easy enough to use the FeedAPI suite of modules to suck in ANY RSS feed -- including an external WordPress or TypePad blog.
