Intel Capital leads $7 M round for Fonality

Open source IP PBX vendor Fonality has a little more cash in the kitty, thanks to an $7 million investment round led from the kind folks at Intel Capital. Why does a chip company want to push VoIP? To spur more PC platform sales to SMB, Intel tells BusinessWeek. Azure Capital, which had invested $5 million in Fonality in January of 2006, is also part of the latest round.
